QCC 100 - NDT/NDE Materials and Processes Course

Course Description:

QCC 100 is designed to introduce technicians to NDT/NDE Materials and Processes within the NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) industry. Knowledge of materials and processes is considered fundamental to the understanding and application of all NDE methods and testing. It is a prerequisite course to the further study of NDE.

The NDT/NDE Materials and Processes training course covers an introduction to material properties and structures, basic steel making, non-ferrous materials, castings, basic welding terminology, metal forming, corrosion, heat treating, mechanical properties, and flaws. The course will cover the components necessary to meet the requirements of NRCan and CAN/CGSB-48.9712.

Prerequisites:

Supporting documentation of the following must be submitted with your registration form in order to be registered for the NDT/NDE Materials and Processes course:

  • Proof of age (e.g., copy of photo ID, drivers license, or a passport).

**Please note that Registrants must meet all prerequisites before the registration will be completed.

Supplies:

Students are required to bring the following with them to class:

  • Pens, pencils, and a ruler.

Course Materials:

All student manuals, text books, and handouts will be provided on the first day of the course.

Classroom Hours:

Unless otherwise notified, classes are 8:00-16:30 Monday-Thursday (32 hours total).

Certificate:

Certificates for the NDT/NDE Materials and Processes training will be issued to each student that successfully completes the course. Attendance will be recorded daily and in order to successfully pass the course, students must receive a grade of ≥70%.
